A vision for Weston

On 1 December, we learned about the new Weston Placemaking Strategy and opportunities for collaboration, investment & cultural placemaking in Weston.

A fabulous panel of speakers was assembled to explore the breadth of opportunities for development, discussing the burgeoning creative scene and inviting partners to become part of the Weston Place Agency – a network for cross sector collaborative leadership in the town.

The panel included:

  1. David Warburton (Urban Splash)
  2. Fiona Matthews (Culture Weston)
  3. Dave Crew (Weston College)
  4. Nicola Antaki (Turner Works)
  5. Sam Walker (Walker and Ling)
  6. Jemma Coles (The Stable)
  7. Alex Hearn (North Somerset Council)
  8. Jon Walton (Sovereign Centre)
  9. Simon Price (Alder King)

The Weston Placemaking Strategy was launched in September following months of engagement in the run up to lockdown. A team led by Turner Works challenged North Somerset Council to rethink its approach to regeneration in the town centre.
