Chip Chat – Episode 3: Queer Here

Meg chats with nationally acclaimed queer artist Tom Marshman and Weston based performance maker Matt Fleming. They chat about their training at Weston College and being QUEER HERE in the super mare during the 1990’s and in present day.

Find out what Matt was concealing when he popped into Superdrug all those years ago, and reflect with us on what a world Weston and beyond would be like… if only we all spent a few minutes a day imagining what it would be like to walk in another persons footsteps.

Weston-super-Mare Pride is just around the corner…

Join us and Tom Marshman at Weston-super-Mare Pride on Sat 2nd & Sun 3rd July 22.

CHIP CHAT has been designed by Megan Clark-Bagnall as a living archive to document the un-foldings of topics and themes uncovered in our conversations with communities and creatives during our 4 year project, 21st Century super Shrines.

21st Century super Shrines is an exciting programme to create a series of innovative contemporary ‘shrines’ which will appear on the high street. These shrines may be permanent installations or live arts experiences that encapsulate the vitality and values of the local community.  Creatively steering the project is lead artist Megan Clark-Bagnall in partnership with brilliant guest artists, emerging artists and the local community.

This project is managed by Culture Weston in collaboration with North Somerset Council, as part of the four-year-long High Streets Heritage Action Zones’ Cultural Programme, led by Historic England, in partnership with Arts Council England and the National Lottery Heritage Fund. The Cultural Programme aims to make our high streets more attractive, engaging and vibrant places for people to live, work and spend time.
