Part of our in our Creative Futures series – a programme of workshops, talks, webinars and facilitated conversations. The programme aims to support creatives and freelance practitioners, at any career stage, helping them build skills and develop their practice to develop as creative entrepreneurs.

About this Event
This session will provide an introduction into the world of arts fundraising. You’ll get practical advice on how to fundraise, covering the essentials of fundraising, including developing a case for support and learning how to create a fundraising strategy that works for you, your project, or organisation.
We will go through approaches for:
- Public funding
- Trusts & Foundations
- Corporate Giving
- Individual Giving
Whether you are curious or terrified of fundraising, this session will give you actionable steps and tools to develop your fundraising practice. There will be a space to share your experiences and learn from the successes of others. The session will include a presentation, some practical stuff and plenty of time for Q&A and conversation.

About Tom Newman
Tom has worked in arts development for a decade. He’s worked for a range of different cultural organisations in the South West – currently as Programme Manager at Culture Weston and until recently as a Relationship Manager at Arts Council England. He has experience of creating and implementing fundraising strategies with a focus on public funds and trusts and foundations.
His work focuses on people and place and breaking down barriers for communities to access the arts, and using culture and creativity to promote community activism and positive social change.
