Weston Bandstand Sessions

Presented in association with Loves Cafe and St George’s Bristol, and with support from Weston BID.

Outdoor live music sessions from diverse musicians and musical genres taking place at bandstands and stages around the town, to breathe life into public spaces through the sound of music.

From the Mud summer festival present ‘Jams under the Bandstand’. Be serenaded by talented Mud musicians while you picnic in the park.

Malawian instrumentalist Gasper Nali plays a Babatoni – a 3 meter, one-stringed, home-made bass guitar – with an empty bottle and a stick to make the most beautiful and catchy original afro-beats possible.

Sweet and the Low Downs

Saturday 10 September,  6-7.30pm, Grove Park Bandstand  

Old-time swing songs and jazz from the 30’s and 40’s to dance to. Learn some beginners swing dance moves and enjoy the show. 

Anita Farmine

Saturday 17th September, 6pm, Grove Park Bandstand  

French Iranian singer songwriter with a voice that resounds like a cry from the east.

With Middle Eastern Mezze available from Sprout Cafe. 

Hazir Ensemble

Saturday 8 October, 2-3.30pm, Grove Park Bandstand  

A vibrant, colourful and accessible exploration of popular, folk and classical music, songs and dance styles rooted in the traditions of Turkey and the Middle East.
