Angela

I have always been excited by the power of live theatre to spark dialogue and provide a lens to view the world and this probably began by directing my friends and family in scenes from 80’s sitcoms in my parents living room! After graduating with a degree in theatre I worked as an actor, director and facilitator with Bristol Old Vic before becoming Associate Education and Youth Theatre Director. I then co-founded Myrtle Theatre Company, a specialist participatory theatre company, which delivered both nationally and internationally. I have also collaborated with Travelling Light Theatre, Cardboard Citizens, Tobacco Factory, Firebird Theatre, Theatre Royal Bath, Natural Theatre Company and devised masterclasses at Bristol University, Bath Spa and UWE.

Since 2007, I have been working within North Somerset, delivering participatory projects, creating collaborative performances and inclusive theatre experiences for anyone who will join in! There are so many highlights; site-specific performances such as “Hurly Burly” (based on Shakespeare’s “Macbeth”) with local residents and students and ‘Bournville becomes Electra (a promenade piece with the Bournville community) rank quite highly!
