Julie Peel

Having spent much of my growing up by the seaside on the Gower coast, followed by my first job in arts marketing and publicity at Swansea Grand Theatre, my life has come full circle!

After more than 30 years’ experience in the PR industry, specialising in the creative, community and charity sectors, I am delighted to return to my arts roots, working with Theatre Orchard and Culture Weston to promote the immense, creative talent that exists in the area. It is an added pleasure to be working with the community in Weston and to take inspiration from the exhilarating landscape that the town offers, both physically and culturally.

My past experience includes Bristol Old Vic, press and marketing department and South West consultancy, JBP Public Relations where I worked on consumer accounts including Bath International Music Festival. A freelance career spanning over two decades followed, handling PR and media relations for high profile events such as the Bristol Harbour Festival and Royal Bath & West Show. For many years, I managed press work for Wallace & Gromit’s Grand Appeal, including key fundraising campaigns, the ‘Gromit Unleashed’ sculpture trails and ‘Cots for Tots’ Appeal, which have raised millions of pounds respectively for Bristol Children’s Hospital and the special care baby unit at St Michael’s Hospital in Bristol.

It is particularly rewarding to be able to bring this experience to the Arts + Health partnerships within Culture Weston.
